**Job Description: Trainee Permit Coordinator (Telecoms)**

**Position Overview**:
The Trainee Permit Coordinator in the telecoms sector supports the permitting process for telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role focuses on obtaining and managing the necessary permits for the deployment of telecom networks, including fiber optics, mobile towers, and other infrastructure. It is a training role designed to develop expertise in regulatory compliance, permit acquisition, and coordination.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Permit Application Support**:

- Collect and verify supporting documentation, such as maps, construction plans, and compliance certificates.
- **Documentation and Record Management**:

- Update project tracking systems to reflect permit status and timelines.
- Ensure all documentation is filed correctly for audits and reporting purposes.
- **Stakeholder Coordination**:

- Communicate with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and surveyors, to gather permit requirements and project details.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, such as local councils, landowners, and utility companies, to facilitate permit approvals.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure permit conditions are met during execution.
- **Learning and Compliance**:

- Gain an understanding of telecom industry regulations, including health and safety standards and environmental guidelines.
- Participate in training sessions related to telecom permitting processes and industry best practices.
- Shadow experienced Permit Coordinators to develop practical skills in handling telecom-specific permits.
- **Monitoring and Reporting**:

- Assist in tracking and monitoring active permits to ensure they remain valid throughout project lifecycles.
- Support in preparing regular status reports for supervisors, highlighting pending permits or potential compliance issues.
- **Process Improvement**:

- Identify bottlenecks or challenges in the permitting process and provide suggestions for improvement.
- Assist in updating standard operating procedures for telecom permit coordination.

**Required Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education and Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or coursework in telecommunications, business administration, or related fields is an advantage.
- Previous administrative or telecom industry experience is beneficial but not required.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) or telecom project management software is a plus.
- **Interpersonal Skills**:

- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proactive and eager to learn new skills.
- **Knowledge and Competencies**:

- Basic understanding of telecom infrastructure and related permitting requirements is preferred.
- A willingness to learn and stay updated on industry trends and legal requirements.

Pay: £26,500.00-£28,000.00 per year
