This post offers an opportunity to join the South West London & St Georges Mental Health Trust Perinatal Mental Health Service. The opening is for a Band 4 (1 WTE) fixed term administration coordinator.
You will need to provide a high-quality administration service to a diverse range of incoming referrals from professionals and stakeholders. This stimulating role comprises of processing and managing incoming referrals to the maternal mental health part of the perinatal service. The postholder will be based within the existing perinatal administration team at Springfield hospital and other trust sites.
Experience of working within a community service and dealing with clients is highly advantageous.
South West London & St Georges Mental Health Trust are committed to supporting and developing staff in their career aspirations. Ongoing training and development will be provided to support development within this current position.
If appointed, you will join a passionate and experienced MDT and develop/process the administration role of our community based specialist maternal mental health services for women who are pregnant, postnatal, or have experienced a loss and are presenting with a wide range of complex and severe mental health problems, as well as systemic support for their partners. The role involves helping to formalise referral pathways and administration standard operating protocols as well as attending MDT meetings, managing referrals and liaising with midwifes, obstetricians, and primary, secondary and third sector care providers.
The team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, specialists’ nurses, nursery nurses, OTs, team lead, specialist midwives, a social worker, and a service manager, who all possess great enthusiasm and a strong passion for working with women and their families during the perinatal period.
The administration team currently exists of a team of 3 staff members who work closely with several community services such as maternity, health visiting, GP’s and Children and Families safeguarding services.
The team work closely to ensure they continually meet the Operational Level Agreement targets set. This developing and expanding team’s success in maintaining their strong performance is accredited to the collaborative attitude adopted by each staff member. New staff members’ will be fully inducted and supported by their colleagues and Team Leaders.
The perinatal community mental health service is a specialist secondary care multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatry, psychological therapies, OT, specialist nursing and nursery nursing, social work, administration, and peer support. We are a diverse and experienced group of mental health professionals with a passion for delivering excellence in perinatal care.
We also meet as a whole service on a regular basis. We offer reflective practice and complex case discussions and hold a regular team business meeting to ensure smooth operation and involvement from all disciplines in developing our vision and strategy for service development. The administration base is at Springfield Hospital.
The Trust offer a blended working approach consisting of working from both home and the Trust headquarters site, in accordance with the Trust policy.

Tooting (Wandsworth)
Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK. This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The Trust provides subsidised parking fares for all our substantive staff. Our main site is located immediately next to Tooting High Street where staff can easily access a range of shops, cafés and restaurants.
