Job Overview: Amazon Shipping seeks an experienced Commercial Lead to act as the point person for our customer returns business. This role will spearhead partnerships with the Royal Mail, Post Office, and other strategic partners to establish a network of convenient package drop-off points for Amazon Shipping customers. The position combines strategic business development with physical location planning to optimize Amazon Shipping's UK operations.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end negotiations with major UK postal and retail partners to establish drop-off location partnerships
- Develop and execute the UK physical location strategy, including site selection criteria, coverage targets, and expansion roadmap
- Create comprehensive P&L models analyzing the financial impact of drop-off locations, including cost savings and revenue opportunities
- Work cross-functionally with Tech, Operations, and Commercial teams to define requirements for UK drop-off solutions
- Design partner compensation models and revenue sharing agreements that drive mutual value
- Build business cases and strategic proposals for senior leadership review
- Establish operational procedures and standards for drop-off locations in partnership with operations teams
- Monitor performance metrics and optimize the network based on data-driven insights
- Lead pilot programs to test and refine the drop-off location model before broader rollout

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or related field
- 8+ years of business development or strategy experience in logistics/retail
- Strong track record of structuring and negotiating complex commercial deals
- Experience managing P&Ls and developing financial models
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA or advanced degree
- Experience in UK postal or logistics industry
- Knowledge of retail operations and site selection
- Previous experience launching new business lines or services
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Understanding of UK shipping and logistics market dynamics
