We have just gained another contract with our client in a new location, Leicester. With this in mind we are looking for two full time furniture collection and delivery drivers.

What do we collect?

Our team operating out of Leicester will collect furniture and household electricals from Leicester and the surrounding area. (Often these items are big and bulky, so we always send out a 2-person team). We also deliver the furniture and electrical items sold by our client, and its these sales that fund the life-saving research that our client undertakes.

What else is involved?

Along with driving the van and using the correct manual handling techniques to safely lift the items for collection or delivery, a small amount of paperwork is involved. Although the paperwork is mainly dealt with by the driver's mate, it is important that the driver understands and is able to complete the paperwork. Then, of course, there's all the usual customer-facing skills, such as being friendly, diplomatic, understanding and generally pleasant.

What shift pattern do we need our new team member to work?

Our new team members will work a 2-week shift patter. Week one is a 6-day week, working Monday-Saturday. Week two is a 4-day week, working Monday
- Thursday. This gives you every other weekend off.

Saturday day work IS INCLUDED in this pattern, and therefore our next delivery driver must be able and willing to work some Saturdays.

Sundays are never included.

Who is our ideal new team member?

*Is physically strong enough to lift bulky, heavy items of furniture.

*Someone needing need a full-time wage but would still like some work-life balance.

*Lives in or near Leicester and can travel to where the van is stored without our intervention.

*Is familiar with driving a 3.5t van.

*Knows the area around Leicester.

All of our team member must have NO unspent criminal convictions. Our new team member will be DBS checked, and should they fail the basic DBS check, their employment with us will be terminated.
