Launch & Aims Co-ordinator

Our Client; a Globally operating Tier 1 Automotive company that specializes in the supply and manufacture of high technology electrical and electronic components, supplying most of the major Automotive OEM’s, are enjoying continued growth in terms of new projects. They are currently recruiting for a Launch & AIMS Co-ordinator on a permanent basis to be the key contact to the customer (FORD Motor Company) and their team for the tracking and resolution of prototype build and launch issues, as well as for product cost reduction ideas. Offering a competitive and negotiable (dependent upon relevant experience) remuneration package, to include Hybrid Working where applicable, this role is available immediately.
**Responsibilities**:
- Attend internal Launch meetings.
- Input company status into Ford AIMS system.
- Ensure AIMS issues for responsible programs are responded to in line with customer timing requirements.
- Review AIMS system daily update with latest status from engineers for company specific projects.
- Prepare/attend and represent company at Ford AIMS meetings.
- Assist the engineering team where required to facilitate issue resolution.
- Run and facilitate internal and external meetings to drive design changes to resolve engineering design issues.
- Track all launch issues on an issue/rework tracker.
- Facilitate and support engineering meetings and assist with documentation.
- Follow company processes and procedures.
- Ensure documents are stored in correct location and accessible to team.
- Highlight any engineering risks and opportunities and escalate to Project Leader, Program Manager or Supervisor / Manager as appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Ideally Degree educated in Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- You will need a good understanding of AIMS Co-ordination within the Automotive industry.
- Must have an engineering background in the Automotive industry with a strong knowledge of vehicle architecture package and components.
- Any technical knowledge of/experience in wiring harness/EDS would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.
- Strong customer facing skills needed.
- Experience of Ford Motor Company systems would be of real benefit.
- High level of ability to interface with the client at all levels including senior management needed.
- Excellent communication skills in written & verbal English.
- Good business acumen.
- High attention to detail and timing requirements.
- Proficient with Microsoft office - Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and advanced Excel.
- Ability to travel both in the UK and Overseas, sometimes at short notice.
