Centre Co-ordinator

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
- To oversee the running of Apna Ghar Minority Ethnic Women’s Centre daily and to uphold the ethos of Apna Ghar in line with the mission statement.
- To manage the staff team and volunteers, assigning tasks appropriate to their job roles and working collectively to enable and motivate them to deliver their project roles. To hold regular team meetings and be responsible for all aspects of staff and volunteer management, including recruitment, training, and supervision.
- To ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and monitored within the centre e.g. safety and security of the staff team, volunteers, and centre users.
- To develop new initiatives with directional support from the Management Committee.
- To be responsible for submitting funding bids to Statutory agencies, Trusts, Foundations, and other sources also engaging in local fundraising initiatives to generate funds.
- To liaise with commissioners and others with relation to activities and sessions at Apna Ghar for the benefit of minority ethnic women and girls.
- To ensure monitoring and evaluation systems and procedures are maintained to demonstrate the impact of the work at the centre.
- To ensure staff and volunteers have up to date training relevant to their job descriptions and attend events which relate to the aims of the project.
- To develop partnerships with our partner anchor organisations.

- To contribute to the development and long-term strategy of the Charity.
- To be responsible to the Chair and Management Committee and produce a monthly report and an annual report covering all aspects of the activities and projects within Apna Ghar.
- To carry out the responsibilities contributing towards the Apna Ghar mission strategy, which may involve other duties that are reasonable but not expressly identified in this job description and agreed by the Management Committee.
- To be a positive and motivational engagement lead for the Centre as well as an outreach ambassador into the local community
- Responsibility for overseeing the charity's customer relationship management system, complying with data protection regulations.
**Key Skills and experience**:
- Experience in working with voluntary, charity or community and youth sectors.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- The ability to deal with a multitude of tasks and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to communicate with people in variety of different contexts.
- Ability to communicate effectively and sympathetically with a wide variety of people including service users, staff, volunteers, and supporters.
- A commitment to our values of compassion, connecting people and community as well as a passion for supporting our ethnic minority community.
- It would be desirable that the centre coordinator be able to speak languages such as Punjabi, Bengali, Urdu, or Hindi
- Be a team player and take direction from the Committee Board
- Safeguarding adults and children training compliant in line with local authority standards.
**Special Conditions**:
- Able and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- The role will require attendance at Committee Meetings to present Co-ordinator's report section of the agenda, which take place on an evening.
- On site working with the occasional need to attend local authority/anchor organisation meetings.
Please note: This role involves mínimal supervision and is responsible for the day to day running and management of the Centre.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: £15.72 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
