**Main Purpose of Job**: **To undertake the administrative functions to ensure the **efficient day to day running of Dyslexia Cornwall. To assist **in the delivery of Dyslexia Cornwall projects and initiatives**.

**Salary: £21,000 pro rata**
**Hours: Part time 16 hours week. (Some flexibility will be needed **to cover occasional out of office hours).**
The post of the Administrator is a fixed term appointment for 18 months. The purpose of this post is to ensure the efficient operation of Dyslexia Cornwall and provide administrative support as required by the Charity Trustees and community based workers.
The aim of the project is to deliver services that improve dyslexic people's chances in life, build confidence and self esteem and improve their skills and abilities. This will be achieved by providing, advice and guidance; signposting and identification of dyslexia through screenings and/or assessments within local communties. In addition, it will raise awareness of dyslexia amongst the general public, businesses and organisations, through community awareness events, dyslexia awareness training sessions etc.
This post has been made possible by an award from the Postcode Local Trust, a grant giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
**MAIN DUTIES**
**Administration and Finance**
**1. **Develop, organise, implement and manage efficient administrative systems for Dyslexia Cornwall, ensuring that all information is recorded in a logical and easily accessible manner.
**2. **To provide secretarial and administrative support as required by the Charity Trustees, Project Manager, Outreach Workers and volunteers, managing and prioritising own work schedule, using initiative as necessary.
**3. **Prepare and maintain procedures to ensure the efficient operation of services on a day to day basis, liaising with the Charity Trustees and other staff where appropriate.
**4. **Maintain and update the current excel database, ensuring accuracy of input at all times.
**5. **Answer the telephone and forward messages as required
**7. **Deal sensitively with the range of complex and challenging issues presented by service users.
**8. **Co-ordinate all bookings for screening, assessments and workshops by liaising with delivery team, dyslexia consultants, customers and clients.
**9. **Ensure Dyslexia Cornwall diaries are kept up to date.
**10. **Undertake financial tasks such as raising invoices and receiving payment for services.
**11. **Process and deal with confidential/sensitive material, including client data.
**12. **Take and transcribe minutes of meetings.
**13. **Photocopy and prepare leaflets and promotional literature.
**14. **Assist Charity Trustees in developing systems, policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of services.
**15. **Organise and maintain website reference material for staff and service users.
**16. **Maintain leaflets and website articles, ensuring they are up to date.
**17. **Liaise with Treasurer to order equipment, materials and resources to ensure effective delivery of services.
**Monitoring and Evaluation**
**18. **Work with the Charity Trustees to ensure the project aims and outcomes are achieved, by monitoring and delivering specifically agreed project outcomes to be reported regularly to the Charity Trustees ensuring quality and impact is measured appropriately.
**19. **Maintain effective electronic and manual systems to monitor the project’s outcomes and fulfil the requirements of the funders.
**20. **Provide relevant monitoring information to assist the Charity Trustees in fundraising and preparing grant bids and reports.
**21. **Assist with data collection and recording for project monitoring and evaluation.

**22. **Undertake occasional evening/weekend work.
**23. **Attend staff team meetings, supervision, and training, when required.
**24. **Undertake training as appropriate to the role.
**25. **Ensure that Dyslexia Cornwall’s Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies are adhered to in daily working practices.
**26. **Comply with the requirements of all the Dyslexia Cornwall’s policies and procedures.
**31. **Undertake other duties to further promote the objectives of Dyslexia Cornwall as directed by the Charity Trustees.

**Knowledge & Experience**
A. Experience of working as an administrator with a significant level of responsibility (Essential)
B. Experience of working with the public and making them feel welcome in a positive and Interview friendly manner (Essential).
C. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures (Essential)
D. Experience of maintaining comprehensive records (Essential).
E. Experienced in taking minutes of meetings (Desirable).
