Role Description
To support the R&D Team and bring new growth opportunities to our customers. Connecting culinary inspiration, functional ingredients and a passion for the plant-based category to develop best in class products. Embracing blue-sky thinking and translating intoconcept. Project Coordination Work alongside front-end innovation team to manage projects. Deliver projects to hand over stage and ensure their execution meets the time, quality and cost requirements of the brief.
Concept Development
Interpret product development briefs or idea cards, ensuring innovative and technologically competent solutions are in line with the project brief, customer expectations, operational constraints and commercial needs.
Market and Consumer Trends
Maintain awareness of the plant-based market, consumer and restaurant trends and competitor activity to identify potential business opportunities.
Skills and Experience
Culinary and product development experience
To assist and work closely with the front-end innovation, R&D team and cross functionally to manage project briefs in a timely manner. Work across the PFM sites, with the ability to successfully communicate with all stakeholders across the business and thirdparties as required, while working with a one team mentality.
Concept/recipe development based on pro-active innovation. Proactively research white space / new opportunities particularly, but not exclusively, in the food product & new restaurant opening space to ensure we are continually ahead of the curve.
Maintain awareness of the external market - food, retail, restaurant, health & nutrition, technology, brands, competitor and consumer trends and update R&D teams accordingly.
As required prepare product costings and nutritionals with an understanding of the business implications from a commercial and manufacturing point of view.
Prepare and present detailed product handovers when required and maintain a consulting role through the development process.
