We have an opportunity for a Lubrication Skilled Track Operative, to work with London Underground’s Track Delivery & Services Division.
You will carry out routine and corrective lubrication maintenance activities on London Underground’s track and associated assets as a member of the Track Lubrication Maintenance team.
Carrying out all track Lubrication maintenance activities at a Skilled Operative Level, complying with the Company's Regulations, rules, procedures, safety, quality & efficiency targets.
You will maintain all Rail Lubrication Equipment, Friction Modifiers & Traction Gel Applicators across the Network.
**Key accountabilities**
- Undertake Protection of Workers on the Track (Engineering Hours) duties as required, ensuring that the company’s rules and regulations are followed so that all staff and those affected by works are kept safe at all times.
- Service and maintain track mounted rail lubricators in accordance with scheduled programmes and LUL’s standards and procedures.
- Service and maintain Friction Modifiers & Traction Gel Applicators (TGA's).
- Installation/commissioning of all mechanical, Electrical & TGA equipment.
- Undertake remedial & preventative maintenance activities, including deep cleans of grease contaminated sites, removal of grease build up and the removal and commissioning of lubricators.
- Capture and record measurements and data and complete works returns for all work carried out on lubricators to allow Ellipse/ Maximo records to be updated
- Using, checking and inspecting all relevant permanent way lubrication hand tools.
- Carrying out routine vehicle safety checks required to drive company vehicles
- Operating relevant mechanical plant and equipment and tools.
- Liaise and co-operate as directed with other groups, departments and contractors as necessary for the achievement of work, tasks and programmes.

**Knowledge**
- Hold a Protection Master (PWT-EH) certificate and safety critical licence. (Essential)
- Hold or working towards Track Maintenance Safety Critical Licence T001/2 Mini Lubrication/Hand Greasing SCL (Desirable)
- Hold PTS Certification (Desirable)
- Understanding of LU Track Lubrication standards (Desirable)
- You will be expected to hold and maintain the relevant certification to undertake the role (Essential)
- Knowledge of Track Lubrication Equipment in Use on London Underground (Desirable)
- Possess a clean, full manual UK driving license as you will be required to drive Company vehicles (Essential)
**Experience**
- Experience of carrying out basic mechanical tasks including correct use of tools and safety standards (Essential)
- Team working experience (Essential)
- Previous experience of working in a railway track environment (Essential)
- Previous experience of Lubrication maintenance work. (Desirable)
- Experience working with Electric Lubricators, Friction Modifiers, Traction Gel Applicators (Desirable)
- Previous experience of working nights (Desirable)

**Additional Information**
The role will be permanent nights 23:00hrs - 06:00hrs, Sunday - Thursday, however could include days & weekend work to suit the business requirements.
The Lubrication Department currently has 2 locations, Lillie Bridge & Edgware Track Depots, you might be asked to be based at either Depot location to suit the Department/business requirements. There will be a requirement to work across the whole of the LU network.
You will be working in both tunnel and open sections of railway, and you will need to work in adverse weather conditions.
Work is of a manual nature and can involve walking several km’s of track in any one shift.
**This is a Safety Critical Role - Occupational Health Clearance will be required.**
