**Job description**

The Head of Policy and Campaigns is a pivotal role as we seek to grow our movement for an equal future. You will lead the delivery of our influencing to achieve change with disabled people. You will be part of our leadership team that is driving Scope to be insight and impact led and, known for what we do. You will help us move to mission-based working, and true collaboration. The purpose of this role is to lead the development of strategies that challenge and change laws, business practices, and public perceptions, ensuring that disabled people are at the heart of everything we do. Working collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders, you will oversee campaigns that inspire public action and foster a movement for change.

You will:

- Lead Scope’s policy, public affairs, and campaigns strategy to drive change for disabled people.
- Oversee the creation of impactful campaigns that influence policy, attitudes, and business practices.
- Represent Scope at senior levels, engaging with government, business leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Lead and develop a high-performing Policy and Campaigns team.
- Ensure disabled people are meaningfully involved in our work.

**About you**

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has:

- Proven experience shaping public policy and leading successful campaigns.
- Strong understanding of the social model of disability.
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
- Political acumen and ability to engage senior decision-makers.
- Excellent people management, delegation, and conflict-resolution skills.
