**Job Title**:Payroll Officer **Location**: Folkestone - Flexibility for ad hoc home working, the HR team are on site most of the time to support the production team **Salary**:Call us on 01233 611780 to discuss or message me on Linkedin for full details **Company**:A global manufacturing company **The Team**: A small HR team who are looking for someone interested in taking on some HR work (for example recruitment, inductions, project work) **Hours**:Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4pm **Incredible benefits**: - 24 days annual leave (you can buy/sell 2 days per year) plus 8 bank holidays - 4% discretionary company performance related annual bonus - Up to 9% matched contribution pension scheme - Health cash plan with healthshield - 50% working from home and 50% working in the office **Responsibilities as the Payroll Officer**: - Manage the UK outsource Payroll system - Arrange the payment of staff salaries, all monthly paid, c400 employees, through the outsourced payroll and to action any other non-regular payments as required - This will involve the checking of all relevant information for the monthly payroll (including new starters, leavers, benefits, contract changes, and sickness absence payments, maternity and paternity pay). - Ownership of the Time and Attendance system (currently Workforce) to capture overtime, absences anomalies etc to reconcile for payment. - To administer Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay and Shared parental leave as required. - To complete necessary third party documentation arising from payroll information requests from external agencies, e.g. HMRC, insurance claims etc. - To check, maintain and process variable deductions where necessary, e.g. court orders, student loans etc - To assist in the administration of benefits schemes including but not limited to the auto enrollment pension plan, childcare voucher scheme, salary and bonus exchange, car allowances. - To undertake compliance reporting and participation in internal / external audits and SOX Compliance and any other related to payroll as and when required. - Deal with payroll related enquiries to conclusion ensuring a high level of customer care and service delivery from both within the HR function or externally across the business. - To attend any required training to ensure payroll knowledge in particular is up to date - To maintain absolute discretion and maturity in handling sensitive/confidential data. - To comply with employment and payroll legislation. Ensure that any legislation changes impacting pay and payroll processing are managed and communicated effectively - To maintain absence and sickness records, including the calculation of entitlements, and completion of relevant attendance and related management information. - Build a close working relationship with the Finance Department and liaise with respect of provision of journals, month end data and other reports as requested. - Liaison with Corporate payroll and HR functions as and when required and ensure compliance with data protection legislation **Additional information for you about your next job**: - This is a standalone Payroll position where you would be the in-house payroll expert, so you need to be knowledgeable and confident to make your own decisions. - 50% of employees are hourly paid and 50% salaried. All on a monthly payroll. - The company operate an outsourced payroll so it's a case of pulling together data, preparing excel files and then data checking and calculation checking. - You'd be responsible for all year end activities, P11ds etc. - You will need to be "digitally savvy" and comfortable with IT, as the role uses Excel (heavily) and Microsoft Access. You will also be the Superuser for their Time & Attendance system, you can receive training on this but you'll need to be confident with IT. - This is a customer facing position, they have a good relationship with their production team but you'll need good customer service to deal with queries (and occasional complaints if someone is paid incorrectly or example). - Extensive experience of standalone Payroll Officer level role within a salaried and hourly paid workforce - Knowledge of pension/auto-enrolment administration - Extensive and up to date UK Payroll knowledge - Knowledge of Time & Attendance systems, including data management and user administration - Experience and knowledge of HR processes (primarily recruitment, onboarding and employee relations) would be an advantage - Strong level of Excel (confident with data manipulation, vlookups etc) and Access - Good verbal and written communication - Flexible and pro active approach to work, able to adapt to changing priorities **Next steps**: Office Angels acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
