Based in Reading, RABBLE Theatre is one of the UK's most successful regional theatre companies and a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. RABBLE produces four large scale productions a year, alongside running a broad and successful education department, we create award-winning work that is recognised throughout the UK and abroad and regularly reaches audiences of up to 10,000. Job Title: Marketing Officer
Based: Working remotely. RABBLE is seeking an office base in Reading. At which time flexible / hybrid working will be available, some office-based work will be expected.
Hours: Part time, 2 days a week starting, opportunity to grow the role
Reporting to: The Artistic Directors
Remuneration: £120 a day. Self Employed

Job Purpose
You will work with RABBLE’s artistic directors and senior team across online and offline channels to produce compelling content, engage audiences and grow the reach of RABBLE Theatre.
The role will also involve promoting productions as well as other RABBLE activities such as the Young Company, Get Up On Stage, Corporate workshops, talks, workshops in schools, events, accessible performances, fundraising and sponsorship.
The post-holder will also contribute to organisation-wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the artistic directors and senior team to create and execute integrated marketing and communications plans to promote productions, educational offerings, etc.
- Manage and create content for RABBLE’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter) - engaging supporters and potential audiences with compelling organic and paid-for content, and growing the RABBLE community.
- Edit and create new content, and source images, for RABBLE’s website
- Produce and disseminate enewsletters
- Support the team with storytelling - including audience development work and strategies for engaging audiences online through digital content and social media; communicating the work of the team; and promoting production and fundraising successes.
- Build and maintain RABBLE’s resources library - including event and stock photography; a bank of case studies and quotes; consent forms; and impact statistics.
- Use analytics tools and provide quarterly reports for website activity (Google analytics), press coverage, social media engagement, and newsletter open and click rates.
- Crop and edit photography and graphics (Adobe CC).
- Support with brand guardianship - ensuring brand and house style consistency across all marketing and communications outputs and advising colleagues across the organisation.
General Responsibilities
- Assist in the awareness-raising of theatre and the arts in the wider community.
- Liaise with external suppliers, agencies and freelancers, as required.
- Keep up to date with best practice within the sector
- Proactively promote RABBLE to other organisations and partners across Reading.
- Represent RABBLE at external meetings in a positive, professional manner.
- Attend and participate in internal and external meetings virtually and/or in person as required.
- Assist with the development of policies, procedures and practices in relation to marketing activities as required.
- Operate within the framework of policies and procedures adopted by RABBLE.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
- A passion for theatre and reaching new audiences
- Demonstrable marketing experience
- A proactive attitude, drive and enthusiasm to carry out projects to conclusion
- A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, google sheets, google drive
- Good organisational, administrative, and project management skills with an ability to prioritise, manage a varied workload and work to deadlines.
- The ability to motivate others and work as part of a team
- Resilience, particularly when faced with setbacks
- Access to own laptop and design tools/software
- Excellent copywriting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at varying levels within the organisation, as well as with external suppliers and stakeholders.
- Willing and able to work collaboratively as part of a small team, as well as independently.
