**Job overview**:
The post holder will report to the Research Nursing and Research and Development leadership team and will work with the Research Nurses, Research Principal Investigators and the R&D office team to support research activity within the Trust. Ensuring the research activity is managed effectively in accordance with regulatory and governance frameworks and meets timelines and targets.

The post holder will actively support screening and recruitment processes, ensuring adherence to study protocol(s), visit schedules and appropriate data capture as well as continued maintenance of accurate and comprehensive research records

**Main duties of the job**:
The post holder will actively support screening and recruitment processes, ensuring adherence to study protocol(s), visit schedules and appropriate data capture as well as continued maintenance of accurate and comprehensive research records.

The post holder will need to develop specialist working knowledge of research processes, regulation and governance to inform and guide their own work as well as others in the research teams.

The post holder will need advanced IT skills to initiate, develop and implement computer based systems and procedures to support research activity records and reporting requirements.

The post holder will support different clinical specialties across Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust based on where the need to do so is identified

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
The post holder will provide day to day management in all aspects of administration of clinical trial delivery and carrying out allocated tasks that are related to clinical trials. This will include support with recruiting patients to studies through,
- Timely collection, co-ordination and submission of data
- Completion of national and local regulatory documentation
- Maintenance of a clear audit trail in accordance with national and local requirements.
