- Collecting patient data from patient notes and the Trust’s electronic systems in order to record clinical trial data onto electronic or paper Case Report Forms (CRF).
- To ensure that collected data from all trials meets the protocol requirement and is complete and accurate.
- To check the validity and completeness of research data collected and take action to obtain or correct missing or contradictory data, to ensure that clean data sets are provided for analysis.
- To resolve queries by initiating correspondence or direct telephone contact with research nurses/clinicians and other relevant healthcare professionals and ensure that reporting timeframes are met

**Patient Recruitment/Retention**
- Conduct telephone calls to patients to capture data required for clinical trials and to document appropriately and accurately
- To deal sensitively and in a professional manner with patients in person and on the telephone
- To process potentially distressing and highly sensitive information appropriately and confidentially
- To exercise appropriate analysis and judgement when dealing with complex situations and to know when to ask for assistance from senior colleagues
- To attend study set up meetings and provide timely set up of administration systems for new studies.
