Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.

Deliver and maintain agreed standards of nursing care with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Take an active role in maintaining effective communication with all disciplines, patients and
Takes responsibility for a group of patients as the named nurse
Able to assess the short term needs of the area and ensure they are met. Understands how to seek advice and support from outside the clinical area
Maintain up-to-date accurate nursing records, ensuring that confidentiality is respected at all times
Work with nursing and other healthcare professions, patients and their relatives/carers to assist in the timely discharge from the Centre through appropriate discharge planning in conjunction with the Discharge Co
- Able to use reflective practice as a method of ensuring that appropriate effective nursing care is delivered to each
Safely administer prescribed medications and to monitor their
Ensure competency and safe maintenance of all medical devices within the sphere of responsibility.
Professional Leadership and Management
Supervise and support all junior and unqualified members of staff and all new members of the team.
Report all serious untoward clinical incidents in the appropriate manner to the Ward Manager
Attend and participate in ward/departmental meetings as
Assist the ward manager in managing the resources required in the provision of care, with an awareness of the financial implications of all
Take responsibility for the ward/department for rostered shifts including the deployment of staff when ward manager not available.To develop an understanding of Clinical Governance/Risk
Ensure confidentiality of all patient and staff information at all times.
Education, Training and Development
Maintain own mandatory training
Assist in creation of a learning environment for all staff that is conducive for
Maintain own professional and personal development as agreed in

Participate in Student Nurse Education and assessment in accordance with the university
