Assisting individuals to recognise and utilise all opportunities that may secure personal development and the achievement of greater personal autonomy. The Post: Peer mentors, in the first instance, report to and are responsible to the Service Manager. The peer mentor will deliver peer mentorship relating to impact of being autistic and having ADHD, life skills and employability.

Main Duties Deliver peer mentorship sessions to individual members focusing on the impact autism has on their life and / or to improve their quality of life. Listen to, advise, support and guide members. Identify and support the implementation of reasonable adjustments Signpost where appropriate to other relevant services Where appropriate share ones own lived autistic experience Plan appropriate activities Advocate on behalf of members while promoting the concept of self-advocacy Attend team meetings and meaningfully engage in group and individual supervision Principal accountabilities Signpost members to a range of social and developmental activities as adults in the local community and actively promote lifelong learning. Build and maintain, where needed, appropriate professional relationships with members family, friends and relevant agencies and ensure the strictest levels of confidentiality at all times Contribute to the preparation and implementation of Person-Centred Planning, identifying agreed objectives, assisting in the production of relevant reports and participating in appropriate activities.

**Undertake social duties for example**: talking with members, helping them with key tasks including accessing the local community, education and recreational activities. Help each individual member to overcome any fears and enjoy facilities provided and to promote the greatest possible level of autonomy by usage empathic active listening, talking and by respecting at all times the individual members right to privacy. Collaborate with other staff, working as a member of a team in order to devise and implement a person-centred approach, maintaining a caring and learning environment at all times. Work with other members of staff to deliver a programme of activities that is stimulating, interesting, enjoyable, rewarding and beneficial to the members.

Maintain accurate all records of support in a timely manner for each individual contact Record mentoring and group support session via HubBot (intranet recording system) as per procedure Demonstrate a commitment to continuing personal development. General information The post holder will work within Matthews Hub policies and procedures including those relating to Health and Safety, Data protection, Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults. The post holder will be thoroughly acquainted with position of fire extinguishers, escape routes and the action to be taken in case of fire. The Health and Safety at work Act 1974 and other associated legislation places responsibilities for Health and Safety on all employees.

Therefore, it is the post holders responsibilities to take reasonable care for Health and Safety and Welfare of her/himself and other employees in accordance with legislation. The above duties may involve having access to confidential information. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times. Members information will be handled fairly, lawfully and as transparently as possible.
