An international specialist in Heavy Transport and Technical Logistics, are currently looking to recruit a **Business Development Manager**, to join their team in the UK Office, in **Hull**. **Main Purpose of the Role**: Reporting to and taking direction from the UK Managing Director, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for new business development and account management as well as playing a vital role in the day to day functioning of the commercial teamand all its responsibilities. **Duties & Responsibilities**: - Promoting the company’s specialist transport and project logistics services - Prospecting of new contacts with a potential need for the company’s specialist logistics service - Identification of new projects and market trends - Key account management - Visits to new, dormant, and active contacts across the UK - Identification and development of relationships with new suppliers - Reactive client discussion / fact finding - Prioritisation of enquiry workload / urgent enquiries - Pricing requests to suppliers - Collation and filing of documentation relating to quotation - Quote generation using in house CMS - Regular discussions to establish client feedback - Identification of "hot leads" - Reporting of KPI’s - Implementing commercial strategies to assist in achieving targets and KPI’s - Working with the Managing Director to assist, instruct and develop the commercial co-ordinators **To Be Considered**: - Proven sales experience within the transport, logistics, freight forwarding or shipping industry - Attention to detail - Ability to follow set procedures - Ability to take direction as well as manage own time dependant on workload - Working experience of Excel, Word & Outlook, and Google Maps - Good telephone manner and Customer service skills - Presentable appearance - Common sense approach to business, sales, and relationship development **On Offer**: - A very competitive salary, up to £38k, in line with skills and experience. - Clear progression path up to Commercial Manager, with support to take the step up. - The chance to progress within the company, and expand your knowledge in a specialist sector of the Logistics Industry.
