**RSPCA Cornwall Branch** is committed to the welfare of companion animals; to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets who are unwanted and far too often neglected or mistreated and to promote responsible pet ownership through education.

All staff are committed to deliver first class customer care to all visitors and supporters in order for the branch to successfully continue to re-home animals and to have the long term support of the communities we operate within. Although under the umbrella of the National RSPCA, Cornwall Branch is a separately registered charity and is self funded meaning we raise all of our own funds to helping local animals. The branch cares for all domestic species as well as wildlife and rehomes over 400 animals per year.

**1. Purpose of the job**

This key role in our Fundraising Team is responsible for driving income generation through business and community fundraising to maximise income. With the aim of increasing charitable donations, you will build relationships in the local community, deliver fundraising targets and implement projects and appeals across the organisation.

The post holder recommends and agrees annual budgets and business plans for business and community income streams, contributing to the fundraising strategy through delivering insight and evaluation and maintaining awareness of sector trends. With support of the Media, Marketing and Fundraising Manager, the Business and Community officer ensures that supporter journeys are optimized to ensure retention, engagement and cross marketing are maximized.

**2. Principle tasks**
- Develop and implement Business and Community Fundraising plans including risk assessments in alignment with our current fundraising strategy.
- Alongside the Media, Marketing and Fundraising Manager, manage a business and community fundraising calendar and support oversight of campaigns from concept to implementation and post appeal analysis.
- Attend business and community group meetings, presenting to audiences in order to generate income and support.
- Actively seek fundraising opportunities with the business and community sector to maximise income streams.
- Support with the planning and delivery of fundraising events on site and across the county,
- Monitor sector trends in IG to ensure sustainability and continuous improvement.
- Manage the Social media platforms in the absence of the Media, Marketing and fundraising manager.
- Assist with preparation of annual budgets and forecasts and report regularly against targets.
- Research and present new fundraising ideas and products assessing feasibility and income generation potential against likely expenditure
- Develop materials for business and community groups.
- Build and maintain a volunteer network to ensure widespread coverage throughout Cornwall with attendance at community events.
- Work with colleagues to develop materials for fundraising campaigns in line with the branch’s messaging and brand.
- Work with colleagues in other departments to maximise income generation opportunities across the organisation.
- Engage with current and new individual donors giving opportunities for visits to the animal centre to engage with our fundraising message.
- Evaluate and build on our current lottery scheme to engage warm supporters and attract new audiences in line with set targets.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of Fundraising’s Codes of Practice and ensure that all activities comply fully with the relevant GDPR and Data Protection obligations and any other legislation.

**3. Knowledge, skill and experience**

**Experience - essential**
- Excellent IT skills
- Full clean driving licence
- Knowledge of a wide range of community fundraising techniques.
- Experience of advocating charitable causes to funders
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload while ensuring targets are met
- Ability to work creatively with others on the development of new project concepts in response to funding opportunities
- Ability to understand and convey complex information and communicate this clearly and concisely to potential donors
- A commitment to RSPCA Cornwall branch values and a working style that reflects these
- A passion for animal welfare.
- Experience - Desirable
- Previous experience of using Google Docs, Mailchimp, Hootsuite and online donation platforms and CRM’s
- The ability to manage volunteers

**Additional information**
- Full driving license and access to a vehicle is preferable
- Ability to work varied hours, including evening and weekend commitment

**Please Note**: Employment in this post is with RSPCA Cornwall Branch, which is a separate independently registered charity to the National RSPCA.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 16 per week

**Salary**: Up to £25,000.00 per year
