**Job summary**:
The Joint Intelligence Organisation (JIO) is looking for a proactive individual to join our Domestic Delivery and Impact Team. The role requires an individual with a strong eye for detail, a desire to learn at pace, and to develop their experience in national security. You should be adaptable and be able to effectively manage competing priorities and find solutions to problems under pressure.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of HMG’s national security machinery, helping to support the UK’s response to priority national and international issues.
**Job description**:
**About the JIO**
The Joint Intelligence Organisation (JIO) primarily supports the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) and the Foreign Policy and Security Council, the Prime Minister and other key decision-makers by providing authoritative, robust all-source intelligence assessment on a vast range of national security and foreign policy priorities.

**The Role**
We are looking for a flexible, hardworking individual with strong communication skills, both written and oral.
**Responsibilities**
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date distribution lists, to ensure published products reach key Whitehall customers and senior readers.
- Maintain records of all JIO and JIC products, ensuring they are up-to-date, incl. information and database management.
- Assist in the preparation of JIO and JIC assessments to a high level of quality and security assurance, ensuring products reach customers (both via electronic means and hard-copy) in a timely, secure and impactful manner.
- Liaise with assessment staff and Private Office to ensure products meet customers requirements and achieve their intended impact with Whitehall’s most senior customers.
- Provide quality and security assurance as a part of the assessment-production process, securing necessary approvals from equity owners.
- Support the Publishing Manager to ensure JIO maintains an up-to-date understanding of key Whitehall customers and senior readers.
**Person specification**:
- Be adaptable and enjoy working in a fast-paced, stimulating environment.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Have experience of effectively managing competing priorities and finding solutions to problems under pressure.
- Be an excellent team player.
- Have an aptitude for IT, including experience working with MS Office suite (particularly Outlook and Word).
- Have an interest in intelligence, foreign policy or national security issues.
**Desirable Skills**
- Previous experience of supporting senior officials.

**Benefits**:
Annual salary increases will depend upon individual performance and contribution to the organisation’s success. In addition there will be the opportunity to earn performance related bonuses.
Existing civil servants can take up the post on loan from their parent department for the duration advertised (permission from their parent department would need to be secured in order to take up the post). Those joining on level transfer will retain their current salary. Staff joining on promotion terms will receive up to a 10% increase of their current basic salary or the pay band minimum whichever is the greater. Staff joining on promotion will adopt the modernised terms and conditions of employment which came into force in 2013.
Flexible Working: Flexible working including job-share arrangements may be considered for this role.
Leave allowances: 25 days' paid leave per annum rising to 30 days after five years' service. In addition, full-time staff receive eight public holidays and the Queen’s Birthday privilege day as well as competitive maternity, paternity, parental and adoption leave.
Probation: Staff new to the Civil Service will be required to serve a six month probationary period.
