**Spencer Clarke Group** are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cheshire to assist with the appointment of a**Corporate Health & Safety Advisor**on a 3 month contract.
We are keen to speak to experienced Health & Safety Advisors, ideally with experience working for a Local Authority previously.
**Contract Details**
**Pay Scale - Inside IR35** - £18.32 - £22.81 p/h (Negotiable dependent on experience)
**Location** - Hybrid working - Site visits required
**Contract Length** - 3 Months - Highly likely to be extended
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide strategic and operational advice and guidance to managers in all departments regarding all aspects of workplace health safety, occupational hygiene and welfare
- Monitor and report on the operation of the Council’s Health and Safety policy, providing relevant advice and guidance to departments on policy development in relation to matters of health, safety and welfare
- Investigate serious accidents and provide written accident reports, also providing advice to the Risk Management and Insurance Team on matters of health and safety
- Prepare and up-date as necessary, written guidance notes and codes of practice relating to all matters of health, safety and welfare
- Audit and monitor health and safety performance and practice on a sample basis and report to the Health and Safety Manager on issues that require further consideration, and recommend remedial action; to ensure that the service complies with currenthealth and safety legislation.
**Experience/Qualifications Needed**
- Chartered Member of IOSH by NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) or NVQ or other means
- Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management procedures
- High level of knowledge & understanding of occupational health & safety, together with full knowledge of legislation, national standards and understanding of practices as related to occupational health & safety
- Knowledge of how to implement Regulations and Statutory Instruments
- Knowledge of accident investigation techniques
