We have an opportunity for a Licensing Associate to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Role Summary
**What will you be doing? **
The Licensing Associate will be responsible for performing sales licensing and negotiation activity with our global customer base, as well as sharing legal expertise with the wider business. The role will be responsible for helping to ensure the successful negotiation and completion of complex sales licences; ensuring they are executed in an accurate, timely and efficient manner, in-line with customer and business requirements.
**Key job accountabilities: **
- Partnering with colleagues to manage the full cycle of licensing administration process including but not limited to drafting and negotiate suite of licence agreements and amendments.
- Supporting sales by directly engaging with customers, as appropriate, to resolve issues, answering queries and providing tender documentation.
- Assist with review and completion of licensing related compliance forms and post completion licensing administration.
- Working with Sales Team to understand standard products and services we sell, maintaining and updating the standard licence templates for use by the licensing team.
- Develop licensing terms and conditions to meet new business requirements where required.
- Drafting effective legal clauses to reflect the requirements of each case.
**About you**:
- Legal degree/qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
- Essential to have a background in and experience of working with contracts, ideally in publishing
- Ability to review, understand the impact of and draft sound legal clauses and text
- Proven ability to exercise professional judgement in advising decisions
- Excellent communication skills, evidenced by use of technology
- Knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Medical) publishing desirable but not required
- Skilled at collaborative working

- Naturally comfortable working in a team environment
