Hampshire CAMHS Early Help Service needs YOU We are offering a permanent contract in the CAMHS Early Help Service and are calling all nurses, social workers, Occupational Therapists to join us.

We need suitably qualified, registered and experienced staff to join us.

We are looking to recruit a social worker, nurse or Occupational Therapists to join us as a Band 5 Primary Mental health Worker in our South East Hampshire Early Help Service, covering Fareham and Havant. This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified staff, looking for a career in mental health and in particular focusing on early intervention and is the place to learn and hone your skills alongside some very expert staff.

To work within the CAMHS PMHW team to provide a community based primary mental health service for children and young people as part of the primary tier of CAMHS.
To work with colleagues to offer consultation and advice to primary care workers on all aspects of mental health and well being of children and their families.
To direct children and their families to the most appropriate service in order to meet their emotional needs.
To offer assessments individually and jointly with primary care colleagues.
To offer a variety of evidence based therapeutic interventions at tier 1 and 2 to children, young people and their families and to hold a small case load. To work with your PMHW colleagues to deliver formal and informal training and education to all agencies involved with the emotional care of children and young people.
To work as part of the team in the Single Point of Access (SPA)

A core qualification such as nurse, social worker or occupational therapist and evidence of registration with a professional body where appropriate is essential.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust takes its responsibilities for the safeguarding and protection of children and young people and vulnerable adults very seriously and expects this of all its employees and bank workers. The Trust works with adult and children’s social care to ensure that the integrated service has systems in place to equip staff and bank workers with the knowledge and skills to recognize abuse, and take action to safeguard and protect vulnerable adults and children and young people. It is expected that all staff and bank workers familiarise themselves with the appropriate structures and policies and with the Sussex child protection and safeguarding procedures and the Sussex multi-agency policy and procedures for safeguarding vulnerable adults and undertake the relevant essential training and further training appropriate to their role.

This post will allow us to expand our stepped care model and work with our evidenced based programmes. It will allow you to enjoy and experience the mix of early help, preventative work, and interventions on both a one to one and in a group style. You will work with groups of young people delivering our various anxiety based groups and emotional coping skills and resilience focused work. You will have the flexibility of working in schools, our clinics and being part of our single point of access team that triages referrals and supports external colleagues and families with advice and signposting information and expertise.

Hampshire CAMHS is known for its innovation and creativity as well as significant involvement from young people, parents and carers with its on-going development.
