Fareham, United Kingdom Sussex Partnership NHS FoundationTrust Full time

If you are a registered nurse (mental health, paediatric or learning disability), psychologist, social worker or other allied health professional with a passion for working with young people and their families, then please read on.

This is a very busy but very supportive team - no day is ever the same

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID

You will be an integral part of the service we provide to our local community and will work within the 'front door' team of CAMHS. There will also be opportunities to run groups, complete initial assessments and manage small caseloads depending on team capacity at the time.

Experience of risk assessment, risk management and collaborative working with young people and families is important in this role.

Training and development opportunities are available to the team including an in-house new to CAMHS training package and regular informal training sessions and CPD events. There is a robust induction. We have supported social workers through the ASYE programme upon qualifying as well as nurses and mental health practitioners to progress through the bands.

Hampshire CAMHS values the contribution that nursing makes and has a well-established nursing structure and strategy. This ensures robust supervision and governance arrangements are in place and CQC standards adhered to. We are a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led service.

1) To provide a community based primary mental health service for children and young people as part of the primary tier of CAMHS.
2) To offer consultation and advice to primary care workers on all aspects of mental health and well being of children and their families.
3) To direct children and their families to the most appropriate service in order to meet their emotional needs.
4) To offer assessments individually and jointly with primary care colleagues.
5) To offer a variety of evidence based therapeutic group interventions at tier 1 and 2 to children, young people and their families and to hold a small case load.
6) To deliver formal and informal training and education to all agencies involved with the emotional care of children and young people.
7) To work in the Single Point of Access (SPA) in the service on a rotational basis.
