**EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW**

In this role as our Waste Infra Technical Expert will be ensuring the effective operation and control of the our waste assets by providing operational & technical expertise to Control Centre staff. This will support the delivery of planned activity on our network in a safe and effective way & also support response to asset failures as a key part of our Incident Management teams.

You will also be expected to provide technical support for field based Infra teams on pollution response and evidence capture, act as a coordinator for operational activities and an escalation point for both operational and health & safety matters.

It’s key that you drive improvement for ITE function and the wider waste teams, be able to identify shortfalls Process’s/ SOP’s and implement improvements.

The role covers a 24/7 x 365 working window (including nights, weekends & Bank Holidays) on a 7-week rotating pattern.

Other accountabilities will include:

- The control & effective real time management of resources (both field-based teams, TM & equipment) to ensure our operational response to planned and reactive repair & maintenance work is completed to SLA.
- Proactively thinking about emerging risks which could stop an activity being completed and putting countermeasures in place to ensure SLA compliance.
- Resource coordinator lead for incident & events.
- Hold field teams to account for reporting pollution impact assessments back to the Waste Controller, to ensure compliance to Environment Agency reporting SLAs.
- Act as the liaison between the WPO (Workforce Planning and Optimisation) teams around resource requirements and own the dispatch and resource management of all P1 jobs out of hours.
- Support WNRT (Waste Network Response Team) to develop emergency job build packs out of hours.
- Technical lead within the Network Control teams for pollution response and evidence capture.
- You will also be accountable for dynamic risk assessments to ensure our field teams are working safely and following Working Time Directive guidelines and ensuring safe working practices.
- During your day week (1 week in 7) you will be field based and engage with key stakeholders within waste and drive operational improvements.
- Responsible for creating a learning, proactive culture using SBF tools and techniques.
- Work to drive preventative action within each respective region with a specific focus on leading quality indicators.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE**

In order to be successful in this role it is expected that you will have experience working within a supervisory, coaching or managerial role with operational knowledge, including NRSWA, safe and effective use of plant and equipment, LOTO techniques etc and have a solid understanding of pollution reporting requirements, pollution response and evidence capture.

If you have experience with operating in the Waste Water Recycling or Waste Networks field teams this would be desirable.
