Assistant Cost Centre Support Specialist

This role is responsible for delivering specialist support to one or more Managers in the review and management of their business area performance with a portfolio typically comprising up to five cost centres with a combined annual value of up to £2M (depending on complexity)

This role is responsible for the routine and ad-hoc reporting of Business Area performance through the use of standard reports from SAP which may be customised to meet particular local requirements.

The role holder will be expected to be able to understand the information contained within the reports and identify potential business issues and then work with managers to follow up with further analysis as requested.

**Key Accountabilities include**:
Delivers Specialist Support to a high standard, managing and completing tasks in line with clearly defined procedures.

Has responsibility for the accuracy of own work, checking all inputs and outputs.

Has responsibility for escalation of issues and queries across team members and, where possible, will make recommendations and offer solutions.

Supports the effectiveness of the Management Information Services team by sharing the success or issues with the wider team

Responsible for proactively seeking areas for continuous improvement and supporting the implementation of improvements as required.

**Key capabilities & Knowledge**:
Working knowledge of administration procedures, its components and associated processes.

Excellent interpersonal skills, working within a team in a coordinated approach, able to work with minimum supervision.

Applies knowledge to ensure that tasks are accurate and timely.

No specific qualifications are required however experience of providing support to local managers, with the confidence to raise identified issues, is important
