Providing HR generalist support to our Company Owned Estate, including assisting the HR Business Partners with other cross functional tasks, such as HR projects. Normal duties will include absence management, performance management support, recruitment & selection, training and development, disciplinary, grievance and general administration. As well as assisting with the TUPE process in relation to store acquisitions and people plan delivery for refreshes.
Working closely with the Company Owned HR Business Partner, the HR Officer will support the management team and colleagues in policy and procedural implementation and provide HR support, advice and services to the wider business as required.
This is a full-time position 37.5 hours per week. The standard working week is Monday to Thursday 9-1730 and Friday 9-1615. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as part of the demands of the role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support in HR led training sessions, workshops and activities, as and when required
- Support the COE (Centre of Excellence) in health and safety and legal and mandatory training compliance for stores
- Provide inductions to all central company owned new startsSupport in collation of new starter documentation for store acquisitions, including preparation of colleague data for payroll purposes, right to work documentation, monitoring forms and file audits
- Support in delivery of engagement and people plans for store refreshes within the company owned estate including training needs analysis, recruitment, right people, right place, right time, engagement sessions with store colleagues
- Prepare and lead collective and individual staff consultation meetings
- Being the first point of contact to provide advice to colleagues and managers on day-to-day issues and in line with company owned policy and procedures
- Proactively support store teams to manage issues in store
- Provide ad hoc advise to independent retailers
- Quality and timeliness of advice to managers and employees
- Positive feedback from managers, etc. who have been supportedImplement disciplinary procedures to include active involvement in disciplinary hearings and all administration associated with such
- Support store managers to provide basic counselling to colleagues who have performance related issues
- Conduct grievance hearings, as and when requiredMaintenance of up-to-date colleague records (electronic records)
- Advise managers of completion and collation of all required documentation prior to new starters joining the business
- Conduct spot checks and file audits to ensure compliance and completeness of colleague records including contract of employment, right to work documentation and settled status documentation
- Ensuring effective administration in employment contracts and records, recruitment, and fair employment records
- Support store teams with recruitment and selection interviews, specifically key rolesSupport the HR Business Partners in the completion of ad-hoc projects as required
- Promote and ensure effective use of engagement and communication processes/mechanisms and provide proactive input for improvement in this area.
- Support in action planning for annual engagement plans for stores
- Promote health & wellness initiatives across stores in line with company initiativesWork with the HR Business Partners to ensure performance management fairness and consistency and problem solving/ open door consistency across stores
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and line managers on the PDR (Personal Development Review) processes
- Support and advise store managers on store team appraisals and ensure the same are completed in line with agreed time frames for stores
- Support store managers to manage performance of store teams, including performance improvement plans and meetings, as required
