**The Role**:
To assist in the preparation and interpretation of complex data and models as part of actuarial investigations.

**Job Specification**:

- Collect, check and analyse data to allow it to be used in actuarial calculations. Investigate anomalies and recommend amendments.
- Design, validate and improve actuarial models and make recommendations to inform business decision making.
- Design, plan and deliver effective communication (verbal and written reports) of the output from actuarial models in a manner that conveys the key risks and rewards involved, including to non-actuarial colleagues, to enable the business to make decisions in the interests of customers and the business
- Understand and demonstrate the use and development of the process, theory and software underlying actuarial techniques.
- Assist in the delivery of short term / one-off projects and activities as required by, and to the standards and outcomes agreed with, the relevant Line or Project Manager.
- Be inquisitive and challenge existing processes/procedures, advising on alternative approaches - offering solutions to problems.
- Build, internal and external relationships with stakeholders and committees to ensure effective delivery of the Group’s business objectives
- Study towards qualification as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). You will be supported through the IFoA qualification with study days, an Actuarial Study Mentor, with budgets available for exam entries and a wide range of study materials.

**Person Specification**:

**Qualifications/Other**:
You will have an honours degree (2:1 or above) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or another degree with significant mathematical content.

Maths A level at A* or A.

At least two other A-levels at grade B or above
