Due to the rapid expansion of our new Data and Insights Team to support this project, there is an urgent need for a Data Engineer to build automated interfaces into key SBS data sources such as SAP/Ariba, Oracle Fusion, NCIS (bespoke in-house system) andCiMS (workflow management system).

To be successful in this role, you will need good communication and analytical skills, excellent problem solving skills, the ability to understand business need and the desire to deliver functional improvement and efficiency.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Build new data-pipelines to feed data from our core transactional systems to a new reporting layer
- Support and enable front-end Power BI dashboards and reports
- Help build a reporting data layer that is fit-for-purpose
- Improve data quality within core reporting systems to the required business standard
- Analyse reporting requirements across stakeholders and identify data dependencies to ensure delivery of required reporting and data management objectives
- Engage with and proactively advise how functionality, process and data could be improved
- Ensure all legal and business-related processes are adhered to, specifically GDPR, IT Security and governance

**What you’ll bring**:

- Demonstratable experience in SQL and core SQL server toolsets (i.e. SSIS, SSRS)
- Experience in modelling data and building data-mart
- Experience of working with 3rd party data-sets to cleanse and enhance core data-sets (e.g. fuzzy matches)
- Experience of working with large data-sets to gain insights, build and track KPI’s and understand trends
- Excellent communication skills, including articulating both technical and business concepts across multiple audiences
- Experience of a full project lifecycle, from development to implementation and into a live service
- Excellent Excel skills

**It would be great if you had**:

- PowerBI dashboard development
- Experience of.NET framework or core
- Background in Financial & Accounting and/or procurement data in the public sector
- Experience of working with Agile techniques (SCRUM, DSDM)
- Previous role working with Azure DevOps or equivalent
