Agenda has a fantastic opportunity for a Facility Management Compliance Officer to join the team in supporting its state-of-the-art in vivo facilities across the UK. The role offers a combination of on-site working at Agenda’s facilities, with scope forworking from home.
**Basic Requirements**:
- Strong understanding of the requirements of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (as amended) is essential.
- Commitment to upholding and promoting good culture of care.
- Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A commitment to deliver a high-quality service to meet the requirements of customers and colleagues, with an approachable, flexible attitude to providing support.
- Ability to multitask and work with varied project leads as part of complex multi-disciplinary projects.
- Good IT skills.
- Willingness to undertake training as required to support the business in meeting regulatory requirements.
**Desirable Skills and experience**:
- Experience in the use of the ASPeL electronic licencing system.
- Experience of Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body participation.
- Experience as an AWERB chair.
- Experience in a Named Person role or as a personal licence holder.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- NIO and HOLC at an Agenda managed facility.
- Lead delivery of the NIO role across Agenda facilities.
- Chair and actively contribute to Agenda’s Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Bodies
- Provide first-line licencing support, regulatory guidance and support to facility users, licence holders and Named Persons.
- Provide support to licence holders in the use of the ASPeL licencing system.
- Proactively search and disseminate information relevant to the in vivo research conducted in Agenda managed facilities.
- Triage and monitoring of SC18 reports
- Oversee the submission of the annual Return of Procedures and annual licence billing processes.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Facility Management division to support the delivery of training courses.
- Liaise with researchers and experimental staff to ensure their needs are met.
- Work with facility teams to maintain compliance with Home Office and other relevant regulatory requirements.
