**Purpose of the Role**

This exciting new remote based opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract. Reporting to Head of Group External Reporting and Financial Control, you will be working to establish a best practice financial control environmentwithin a regulated environment. You will be monitoring the effectiveness of financial control and produce financial accounting and reporting for the relevant MGA Pillar and reporting entities with the responsibility for ensuring balances are accurate and fullyreconciled in a timely manner. Income is recognised as per group policies and the pillar balance sheet is reconciled and auditable from an internal and external perspective.

**What you will do**

This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more.
- Support the integrity of the financial control environment including assessing the effectiveness of accounting systems, controls, records and monitoring mechanisms.
- Identify control failings, weaknesses, breaches, near misses, errors and omissions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Business Standards and Policies for areas of responsibility.
- Ensure adherence with Group accounting policies.
- Lead role in handling the relationship with the external auditors.
- Review monthly financial results, balance sheet reconciliations, insurer bordereaux and cash flow forecasts.
- Process improvement and streamlining of monthly tasks.
- Ensure all financial reporting is compliant with the relevant accounting standards.
- Support and provide quality monthly reporting to the finance business partner.

**Who we are looking for**

We are looking for someone who has/is:

- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience of IFRS
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

Experience working in a large complex organisation would be an advantage as would experience of Dynamics 365, Tagetik and other finance operational functions.
