**So, what does the role of Head of Specialist Consulting here involve?**

As our Head of Specialist Consulting, you will be responsible for the delivery of profitable income growth through management and leadership of the Specialist Consulting Team to convert new sales opportunities for high value SME/Mid-Corporate clients. Theleading, coaching and mentoring of the Specialist Consulting Team to retain and develop existing key client accounts through the delivery of high standards of specialist consultancy, excellent customer service, and bespoke customer propositions and initiatives.You will work closely with the company’s Marketing team to develop its customer proposition for large SME and Mid-Corporate customers, as well as managing relationships with insurance and health & wellbeing providers to deliver high quality outcomes.

**Key Role Accountabilities**:

- This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities._
- New Business and Renewal Income through the Specialist Consulting Team
- Customer satisfaction, as measured by internal customer satisfaction surveys and Investors in Customers surveys (or equivalent external measures)
- Relationship Management of high value Key Accounts at a strategic level
- Working closely with our sister company, Towergate Insurance Brokers, to deliver incremental revenue growth.
- Performance management of the Specialist Consulting Team to deliver high quality customer outcomes as defined and measured by the company’s business standards monitoring regime.

**What are we looking for in a Head of Specialist Consulting**:
You will have proven skills in, and be able to provide examples of:

- SME and Mid-Market / Corporate Private Medical Insurance line management experience
- Successfully leading and coaching teams within span of control to deliver new business and retention targets.
- Successful management of key external distribution relationships
- Successful management of key corporate client relationships
- People management, including leading through change, and understanding of disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Contract negotiation, such as Customer Fee Agreements, insurer TOBAs or distribution partner agreements (Introducer Agreements)
- Supporting proposition development, in respect to products, services and/or client servicing propositions.
- Commercially minded, with an understanding of how to balance competing business requirements (revenue growth vs cost control and profitability)
- Capable of leading, coaching and mentoring experienced, highly capable, and confident Sales Consultants
- Capable of engaging directly with key customer accounts at a strategic level
- A confident public speaker with good presentation skills
- In possession of strong literacy and numeracy skills
- A clear and effective communicator, whether verbally or in the written form, and able to adjust their communication style to suit the audience (customers, staff, management colleagues, senior management)
- Comfortable dealing with senior management within the Health business, and with sales and operational management within Insurers and Distribution Partners

You will be able to demonstrate a strong technical understanding of the following markets:

- Private Medical Insurance (large SME/Mid-Corporate)
- Ancillary products (Cash Plans, Dental Insurance, EAPs)

You will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the following markets:

- International PMI
- Group Risk
- Business Protection
- General Insurance
