**Background**

England Boxing is the National Governing Body for one of the oldest sports in the world, one which has featured in the ancient and modern Olympics since 1904.

With its own heritage going back to the 1880s, the organisation is responsible for promoting and developing the sport at all levels, from grass roots through to the England talent pathway and in turn passing on prospective medallists to GB Boxing. The organisation is a member of IBA and EUBC, the World and European governing bodies respectively.

The organisation has recently completed its strategy and funding plan for the next five years.

The governing body is going through rapid change and the sport is experiencing growth in both competitive and recreational boxers. It has also been successful in delivering medals at various men's and women's international competitions.

As part of this change, the organisation is looking to employ a Senior Finance Assistant to provide support in meeting both the objectives and ambitions of the finance department and organisation. Hybrid working allowed once probation is passed.

**Job Title **Senior Finance Assistant

**Reporting To **Head of Finance

**Responsible **N/A

**Salary **£30,000 FTE (Actual salary £24,000)

**Location **English Institute of Sport, Coleridge Road, Sheffield

**Type of Contract **Permanent - 28 hours p/w (over 4 days)

**Role Purpose **The role will mainly be responsible for overseeing the data accuracy of the ledgers (purchase, sales and general), journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation.

**Other core duties**:

- Assist the Head of Finance with finance business partnering
- Oversee the company credit card and bank accounts
- Provide guidance to the Finance Assistant
- Assist in the general administration of the finance department along with the Finance Assistant
- To perform any other duties as reasonably required in order to meet the objectives of the organisation.

**Person Essential**:
**Specification**
- Suitable experience as a Finance Assistant (3 years+)
- Have experience in accounting journal entries
- Have experience in balance sheet reconciliation
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
- Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and accurately
- Ability to be forward thinking, use initiative and be proactive

**Desirable**:

- Interest in Boxing

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £24,000.00 per year
