Dorset Healthcare are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and those driven to provide an outstanding service and are looking for an experienced Administrative Team Assistant to join our administrative team at Poole Adult Community Mental Health Team.
You will be fully supported by an experienced Team Leader, be provided with all the training and tools you need to be a success in this role. You will have regular supervision, yearly appraisals and the opportunities to be creative and put your ideas forward, embedding ethos of continuous improvement.
If you have a willingness to learn, previous administrative experience including audio typing skills, and have the skills to be a success in this role, then we want to hear from you.
You will need to be flexible to manage the workload of this busy Community Mental Health Team. We adopt and ensure our Trusts values are incorporated in everything we do, by providing a patient centred approach with their recovery and wellbeing at the foremost of our care.
The working pattern is 5 days a week from 08:30 until 17:00 with an hour for lunch.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
You will be required to provide efficient secretarial and administrative support to clinical staff.
To provide a responsive prompt and professional service, via telephone, electronic mail and post, to patients, carers, relatives and all other professionals and agencies, ensuring this service is operational between 9.00am - 5.00pm.
Given the nature of this service, some vulnerable patients may contact us in distress, we are looking for resilient applicants with excellent spoken and written English with the ability to communicate clearly, empathetically and professionally over the phone.
To attend meetings, take minutes as required, including during Multi-disciplinary Meetings and Business Meetings.
To work / support in other departments as and when required to include our busy outpatient department and during times of sickness, training and annual leave.
To ensure patient appointments are made where necessary including home visits.
You will have a solid administrative background or be an experienced secretary, and be able to multi-task and manage your time effectively.
You will need an understanding of Office 365 including Outlook, Word and Excel.
You will be organised, able to motivate yourself and your colleagues, be able to work to deadlines and complete tasks with the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail.
You will be responsible for keeping RIO the Trusts patient record system up to date, following the data protection and GDPR legislation.
