**Procurement Specialist**
We are currently recruiting for a **Procurement Specialist** to join our client, who specialise in providing managed services for the NHS, on a permanent basis.
**Overview**:
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for delivering routine procurement activity. including low to medium risk contracts or tendering activity and will lead relationships with the purchasing support teams regarding catalogue updates.
**Day to day duties**:
- Support the achievement of agreed savings targets within spend category via projects and initiatives, sourcing activity demand management, supplier management and contract negotiation
- Facilitate supplier performance reviews, market analysis and supplier development by maintaining an effective contract database
- Ensure controls assurance criteria is applied to key areas of the role and policies and operational practices comply with the SFI's, relevant legislation and other statutory requirements
- Analysis of category spend the implementation of a supply management approach and the introduction of systematic supplier performance systems
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Stakeholders
- Challenge current supply arrangements where appropriate and to support re-negotiating contracts
**Previous Experience**:
- Knowledge of core procurement principles and activity
- Previous experience of working in a procurement function
- Experience of managing contracts and suppliers
- Proven track record of influencing people and building collaborative partnerships with suppliers/ stakeholders
- Previous experience of providing procurement advice and leading sourcing events in compliance with public or private regulations
- ** **Knowledge of e-procurement systems
**Personal Characteristics**:
- Excellent interpersonal skills along with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Confident communicator at Senior Management Level
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and reliable and comes with an ability to deliver to tight timescales
**Education**:
- Education to degree level or equivalent work experience within a procurement/supplies function
- CIPS qualified to diploma level 4 or working towards this goal.
