Portman Asset Finance, an expanding Asset Finance specialist based in Northamptonshire, is looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant, based in our Northampton office, to join our team. With a base salary of £24,000- £26,000, and a bonus of 5-15%, the role will be responsible for ensuring invoices and pay-outs are completed in-line with appropriate timeframes alongside aiding and completing a broad range of finance duties.
- Following internal controls and processes, check, validate and create Business Bank Payments against approved invoices;
- Support with, and complete, Bank Reconciliations;
- Support month-end processes;
- Process Purchase Invoices;
- Assist with reviewing and raising client loan documentation;
- Carry out payment runs;
- Identify financial and financial-process discrepancies and resolve; escalating where necessary;
- Raise invoices and complete credit control processes;
- Post journals;
- Reconcile bank and supplier statements;
- Complete all associated, and appropriate, finance administration, including entering details into our CRM (Zohodesk).

Please note, this role will be based at our Head Office in Brackmills, Northampton.

**Skillset, Experience and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience within a professional Finance Department as a Finance Administrator/Assistant or Accounts Payable Assistant (or similar) is essential;
- Experience of checking and processing business invoices, with the ability to query, question and resolve where appropriate, is essential;
- Experience checking and executing Business Bank Payments following a defined workflow is essential;
- Knowledge of KYC/AML is highly advantageous;
- Strong Microsoft Office, CRM and Accountancy software skills are essential - experience with Xero would be highly beneficial;
- Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks at any given time;
- Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail;
- Analytical and inquisitive;
- Excellent written and oral communications skills;
- Ability to build strong and effective working relationships at all levels, including senior stakeholders;
- Resilient with the capability to work under pressure in a fast-paced corporate environment;
- Adept at problem-solving with a can-do attitude;
- Good commercial acumen; and
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a team player.

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
