**Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer Team Lead** - The Role:
You’ll play a key part in designing robust, scalable and secure features, reviewing and supporting code across every part of our ever-evolving ecommerce-based PaaS product, taking ideas from requirements to production code and being responsible for qualityat every step along the way coupled with ensuring excellent test coverage.
You’ll work with some great technology including but not limited to; Ruby 3 and Rails 6, Kubernetes, Docker, Digital Ocean, AWS, MySQL, Redis, Gitlab, AWS/s3. Elasticsearch, Coffee Script, React JS.
You will bring energy and positivity to the role, looking for opportunities to learn and grow.
We believe in autonomy and giving people the opportunity to come up with new ideas to help us drive the business forward. We feel that the best engineers (and the ones we want to work with) are self-starters and who can work well as part of a larger teamand who have great communication skills.
For our senior team members there is an expectation to participate in our compensated out of hours support, which is on a rota basis throughout the year.
**Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer Team Lead** - Key Responsibilities:
- You’ll be expected to have extended understanding of Ruby on Rails in a production environment and solid experience of TDD, good CI/CD and observability practices.
- You’ll be keen to stay up to date with the latest technologies and using real customer feedback to continuously iterate and improve our offering.
**Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer Team Lead** - You:
- Experience in API integrations
- Excellent hands-on experience in PHP programming language
- Experience in working with RESTful API
- You must be a Ruby developer with 5 years+ commercial experience
- Experience of working with Kubernetes would also be helpful
- Experience of distributed service architectures, including how best to test and release them, and how to ensure system stability when making changes independent of other services
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, version control (we use GitLab), CI and testing tools like RSpec/Minitest/Capybara
- Bright, highly self-motivated and driven with a professional and positive approach
- Ability to work independently, mentor & collaborate with team members
- Ability to drive development forward and motivate your peers
- Promotes a customer-centric, creative and enjoyable team environment
- Proactive and enthusiastic quick learner with the ability to work as part of a team
- Experience across the entire SDLC
- You must have excellent written and spoken English
- You must have a collaborative, empirical and experimental approach to solving problems
- Ability to multi-task and stay organised in a dynamic work environment
- Passionate about software development, with a general thirst for technology & interest in new tools & methodologies
- Proactive and enthusiastic quick learner with the ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to adapt and to drive innovation in an evolving technical environment
- Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or relevant work experience
