On behalf of GLD, we are looking for a Communications Specialist (Inside IR35) for a 3 month hybrid contract based from London or Leeds or, 3 days in the office and the remainder working from home.
As a Communications Specialist, your main responsibilities will be:

- Familiarity with content management systems, especially Microsoft SharePoint modern, along with knowledge of approval workflows and sign-off processes
- Experience in content writing and editorial processes, including understanding how to craft engaging internal communications pieces that resonate with audiences, ideally including Civil Service staff audiences.
- Editorial judgement and quality assurance experience, including the ability to assess content for accuracy, tone, web accessibility, and alignment with departmental messaging
- Supporting the Intranet Content Assistant on content management and technical back end

**Essential**:

- Technical experience including understanding intranet architecture, user experience principles, and basic troubleshooting
- Experience in training and supporting colleagues on digital platforms, along with knowledge of accessibility requirements and information architecture
- Liaising with teams across the department on proposed content and advising on editorial guidelines
- Good stakeholder engagement experience, particularly in explaining editorial standards and communications best practices to non-communications colleagues
- Experience in consultative roles where they've guided others on content standards while maintaining positive working relationships across different teams
- Experience working collaboratively in communications environments, understanding how different channels and activities connect to support overall communications objectives
- Experience in cross-functional teamwork and supporting broader communications campaigns or initiatives
- Experience in content auditing, user research, or digital analytics for understanding how to optimise intranet effectiveness
