**About us**
The Council promotes an anti-fraud culture throughout the organisation and deals with allegations or suspicions of fraud, bribery, and corruption promptly. An exciting opportunity exists for a Corporate Fraud Officer to work alongside the Internal Audit provision of the Authority to provide a counter fraud service to the Council.
**About the role** Pay Details**: Grade 9, SCP 31-35 (£35,336 to £39,571)
**Hours of Work / Working Pattern**: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, flexible working hours
**Main Place of Work**: Any location within the Vale of Glamorgan boundaries including ability to work from home.
**Description**:
The Corporate Fraud Officer will identify, plan, undertake and supervise investigations into allegations of fraudulent activity against the Council, undertake pro-active counter fraud work including fraud awareness training across the Council to create an anti-fraud culture and ensure fraud related policies are regularly reviewed and updated.
**About you**
You will need:
- To be an Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist or hold a relevant Level 6 educational qualification
- A minimum of two years proven experience undertaking fraud investigations including formal fraud (PACE) interviews.
- A good understanding of all core competencies, legislative requirements, and investigation practice.
- An understanding of the functions and operations of Local Government.
- To be highly skilled in producing timely and high quality documentation including reports and presenting complex information ensuring they are suitable for particular audiences.
- Able to show initiative and work without close supervision but under a team ethos.
