**About us**
The Vale of Glamorgan is recruiting to an Income Officer post in the Community Care Finance Team, a key function within Social Services. The Directorate has a wide range of statutory duties and responsibilities around protecting and supporting vulnerable children and adults.

**About the role**
Pay Details: Grade 7 SCP 20-25 (£30,296 - £33,945)

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37

Main Place of Work: Dock Offices

Temporary Reason: n/a

***Description**: Work as part of the Community Care Finance Team, with specific focus on the Directorate’s Corporate Appointee role and management/repayment of debt accrued by citizens in receipt of social care services and debt outstanding with care providers.

To supervise the corporate appointee service and associated staff resources (Account Administrators) and support systems.

**About you**
You will need:

- Experience of dealing with members of the public in debt recovery processes
- Experience of managing and controlling outstanding debts and arrears.
- Experience of collaborative working across multiple departments and agencies to achieve successful outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to write accurate and clear correspondence and reports
- Ability to analyse and present data
- Ability to deal calmly and confidently in situations.
- Ability to form and maintain positive working relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Ability to anticipate, prevent and resolve problems.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work on own initiative
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- A level or equivalent experience within specialist area of Finance or Debt Recovery.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Demonstrable ability and commitment to working with citizens to achieve positive outcomes
- Commitment to continuous improvement in service delivery
- Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate
