Employee Relations Partner

As an Employee Relations Partner, you will be responsible for providing expert advice to our stakeholders, managing any risk whilst ensuring effective outcomes.
- Contract: Fixed term contract 12 months_
- Salary: From £48,000_
- Reporting to: Employee Relations Manager_

- O_ur permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office._

Your role is to be an employee relations specialist and trusted advisor supporting colleagues across the service and acting as a partner to the Strategic People Partners.

As an excellent coach, you’ll use your employee relations and HR expertise to deliver high quality, proactive case management and support for all employee relations matters. Examples include capability, disciplinary, grievances, absence management, ACAS conciliations, tribunal claims, appeals and flexible working requests.

Key responsibilities
- Providing sound and professional employee relations advice and guidance to managers.
- Making sure that ER advice given to managers is balanced and considers all associated risks
- Coaching and supporting managers with people matters
- Managing a high portfolio of cases including end-to-end ownership of capability, disciplinary and grievance issues
- Attending capability, disciplinary, grievances, absence management hearings and tribunals as required, including preparation and support with all written correspondence
- Liaising with the legal team and other legal specialists to mitigate risk on our complex cases
- Working in partnership with your colleagues in HR, referring or escalating to your manager or one of the Strategic People Partners when necessary
- Working in close partnership with the Strategic People Partners to develop excellent relationships and share information and insight about relevant areas of responsibility
- Identifying trends and issues as soon as these are apparent and proposing resolution options
- Keeping abreast of relevant employment legislation
- Using data to actively identify opportunities where policies, formal processes and training can be simplified and/or strengthened so key issues can be addressed in a robust, effective and expedient manner.
- Recording, monitoring, following up and reporting on employee relations cases and policy adherence, including identifying trends, themes, lessons learnt and areas for improvement of management capability and practice.
- Providing regular business reviews of case outcomes, trends, and data analysis to Strategic People Partners and relevant leaders.
- Providing workforce data, troubleshooting risk and advising on effective change management, the carrying out of effective consultation and redeployment practices, handling of contentious and complex issues
- To work with L&D and the Strategic People Partners on the design and delivery of people interventions and upskilling programmes
- To work with L&D and the Strategic People Partners on developing and delivering ER workshops for manager
- Working together across HR to ensure the service we deliver is seamless for our customers and colleagues
- Promoting and helping to build an inclusive working environment
- Delivering a fair and efficient service that reflects the diversity of our customers and our people
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the skills and capabilities. You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria:_

Minimum Criteria
- Proven Employee Relations experience in a similar role and organisation
- Knowledge of employment law and best practise in Employee Relations
- Great communication skills and able to influence diplomatically and effectively at different levels
- Good understanding of people dynamics - to get to the heart of an issue balancing empathy and pragmatic advice to managers
