Ecommerce Executive (ecommerce agency) - London based
About the job - Immediate start
Field Work Group is looking for an Ecommerce Executive to join our rapidly growing team.
FIELD _WHO_?
Field Work Group builds profitable online businesses and valuable digital brands. Founded by a team of client-side veterans who've scaled retail and consumer businesses, we operate end-to-end DTC Ecommerce on behalf of our clients. The team is small but growing fast, remote but tightly knit, and above all highly productive and growth-focused. Our ambition is to become the leading ecommerce agency for high growth brands in the UK.
NOT JUST ANOTHER DIGITAL AGENCY
- We are truly invested in our clients’ success, in many cases as partners or shareholders. We approach every engagement with meticulous planning, hands-on execution and rigorous analysis. TLDR; we do the work.
- We hire for attitude as well as competency - a collaborative approach, a can-do mindset, compassion for colleagues, and great communication. All of our team brings these attributes, just as much as their skills and experience.
- We are committed to professional and personal development, and will always try to promote from within. As an example, our Managing Director started as an Ecommerce Consultant.
HOW TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
As an Ecommerce Exec you’ll be driving growth for brands by analysing data and consulting on SEO, UX and overall performance of a wide range of consumer brands, providing meaningful reporting on performance (KPIs) and progress (roadmap), and looking for new opportunities for growth.
This experience will have been built up in ecommerce positions either in brands/retailers, or with equivalent agency experience. At least one client-side position is beneficial so that you understand the commercial pressures faced by brands.
Analyse
Whilst all of our clients share similar business models, they all have different challenges and ambitions. Together with the broader team, you’ll assess your clients’ objectives and interpret their data to identify opportunities for growth across the broad spectrum of ecommerce levers.
You’ll set realistic targets and KPIs, allocate budget appropriately to different projects, and strive to drive commercial success.
Your analyses will also form the basis of the many audits and due diligence reports that we carry out for clients.
Deliver
You’ll ensure that your client’s plans are executed effectively across the agency, owning the client’s performance and roadmap as if you were part of their team.
Your colleagues in F/W might be experts in building on Shopify, trading on Amazon or buying on Facebook, but nobody knows the client’s business like you do. As such, your input will be key in every aspect of the delivery.
You’ll be comfortable delivering consultancy projects independently, and should be confident in delivering impactful reports and presentations.
Communicate
As the person planning and overseeing the work on behalf of our clients, you’ll also be communicating the results to them.
You’ll shape the narrative of their commercial performance, telling the story that underpins their KPIs.
Crucially, you’ll be proactive in communicating changes to the key platforms or broader industry changes that might affect a client’s performance.
You’ll also communicate to your teammates, ensuring we are fully aware of the clients performance, and contributing your ideas to our internal knowledge base.
What does day-to-day look like?
- Build and optimise growth plans for your clients. Proactively guide your clients through their digital growth journey, taking ownership of the results.
- Forecast and monitor the performance of commercial and marketing KPIs, plan and manage the progression of their digital roadmap.
- Deliver end-to-end digital business audits or specific deep dives for brands, and contribute to due diligence exercises for investors.
- Prepare weekly and monthly analyses for clients and communicate areas of poor performance or opportunity across all of their digital channels
- Contribute to the execution of your clients’ requirements, whether that’s delivering a Shopify re-platform or a full-funnel Facebook campaign.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
Experience & Skills
- 2+ years of experience working in a similar role in a client-side or agency environment
- Good understanding of what drives ecommerce success and strong knowledge of the underlying KPIs - commercial as well as digital
- Ability to devise, communicate, and deliver a realistic growth plan
- Experience managing digital agency partners on behalf of brands, knowing how to allocate budgets and improve performance
- Experience in analysing client websites and provide well-defined strategies to improve site performance and ROI
- Excellent account management and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across the clients’ organisation
Approach
- Flexibility - Whilst you will mostly b
