- Advocacy: To advocate on behalf of their clients, ensuring that their voices are heard and their rights are protected. They may engage with other service providers, government agencies, and community organizations to address systemic barriers and improve access to necessary resources and services.
- Crisis Intervention: To have an idea about crisis intervention techniques. They can provide immediate support and assistance during emergencies or situations that require immediate attention, such as mental health crises or instances of domestic violence.
- Documentation and Reporting: Able to maintain detailed records of client interactions, progress, and any relevant information. To prepare reports and communicate with other professionals or agencies involved in the client's care, ensuring continuity of support and sharing important updates.
- Community Engagement: The ability to actively participate in community activities and networks to stay informed about available resources and service. They may also organize or facilitate support groups, workshops, or community events to promote social integration, education, and empowerment.
- Self-Care and Professional Development: Must practice self-care and maintain their well-being to effectively support others. They may receive supervision and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance their skills, stay updated on best practices, and address the challenges associated with their role.
