**Job description**:
COP26 concluded in November 2021 with 197 Parties agreeing the Glasgow Climate Pact, reaching consensus on the need for urgent climate action. This means that the goal to limit global warming to 1.5C remains in sight, but this will only be achieved through an immediate, sustained global effort. The UK plays a central role in accelerating progress on climate change internationally and BEIS's International Climate Finance (ICF) team is critical to this, supporting developing countries in to achieve and enhance their emissions reduction goals.

The 2050 Calculator Programme supports developing country governments to build their own version of the UK’s 2050 Calculator energy and emissions model - a tool that allows users to trial different options for reducing emissions at a faster rate and to build a pathway that meets long-term emission targets to 2050.

**Responsibilities**:
Manage a portfolio of country calculator projects: for each project, the programme officer is responsible for managing the relationship between 3 key stakeholders (the Programme Delivery Partner, the Project Implementing Partner, FCDO embassy colleagues) to ensure the project is completed by the agreed deadline and witin budget, hitting as many of the Programme KPIs as possible, while minimising reputational risk and maximising the project’s potential to advance UK national interests.

Manage communications and outreach: liaising with the delivery partner communications lead and ICF communications team for calculator kick-offs, launches, newsletters, and conferences.

Finance and programme management: lead on managing payment of invoices/grant claims as well as ICF programme management requirements (completing project delivery plans and internal programme updates)

The Green Finance and Capability Building team is committed to supporting staff to gain a wide range of experiences, your manager will work with you to shape your responsibilities to meet your development needs/aspirations.

**Skills and experience**

**Essential**
- Strong project/programme management and organisation skills.
- A good team player and relationship builder. This role will work with a wide range of stakeholders across Whitehall and globally (both internally and outside of HMG).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to grasp complex concepts quickly and explain them to others

**Desirable**
- Knowledge of the international climate policy landscape.
- Experience working as or with consultants/ contracted parties.
- Experience of working with and influencing international stakeholders, particularly developing countries.
