Payroll Administrator

We have a fantastic opportunity to join a very reputable public sector client based in Bridgend as a payroll administrator on an ongoing temporary contract, approximately 3-6 months.
This is an extremely exciting time to be joining the organisation and assist the business in providing an efficient and effective payroll service. The role will primarily involve data entry, checking payroll information and assisting with queries.
This is a full-time role which is initially office based but long-term may involve hybrid working with 2 days in the office and would be ideal for someone with previous payroll experience or a graduate. Someone that may be looking to enter the payroll profession.
**Key responsibilities will include**:
- Processing new starter and leaver details
- Verifying and checking payroll information to ensure all data is entered for accurate and timely payment
- Ensuring all employees are set up correctly
- Updating Employee Tax Codes
- Uploading hours onto spreadsheets and checking calculations
- Deal with internal and external queries
- Producing weekly reports and payslips
- To maintain strict confidentiality at all times

- An enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Willing to go the extra mile in order to get the job done
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail are vital
- Previous knowledge of payroll is desirable, but not essential
- Ability to work in a busy office environment and to tight deadlines
