- Bidding is a very reactive discipline, which means we have to quickly adapt to what is being asked of us from both our clients and our internal stakeholders. You will need to be flexible in taking on different tasks every day and not be phased by last minute changes and tight deadlines.
- Every tender or proposal we complete creates a new team of different people. Therefore, we need someone who can communicate effectively, develop an ability to follow high-level strategy conversations about bidding, and be comfortable supporting the rest of our team in managing a timely bid process.
- Your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring and sharing new opportunities using our third-party bid portal and downloading bid documents from client portalsUnderstanding our processes and supporting the bid team to follow themCoordinating bid programmes and meetingsProviding support to the bid managers/writers by liaising with appropriate departments and specialists to obtain relevant information/details to allow written solutions to be developedAssisting in the production of best in class bid quality answers, CVs and evidenceProof-readingFormatting bid responsesUploading our bids to client portalsAssisting with the capture of feedback post bid submission

Required for the position of Bid Co-Ordinator

You will have an exceptional eye for detail, be extremely organised and have very good written English skills.
Essential:
Highest level of attention to detail

Excellent writing skills - with a specific focus on attention to detail and ability to review text for spelling and grammar

Excellent communication skills

Excellent organisational skills

Experience of supporting bid creation and tender submissions for international and UK markets.

Able to actively participate in proposal meetings as well as providing appropriate challenge around the implementation of the internal bidding processes

Flexible attitude to undertake a wide range of tasks

Good team-working skills and the ability to function effectively in a small team with individual responsibilities and collective goals
Preferable (not essential):
Experience in bid preparation / bid management / business development

Experience in bid management and response processes, such as Shipley

Professional services or construction background

Job Profile
- Mott MacDonald is entering an exciting phase of growth and change across the highways sector. With a future pipeline of exciting opportunities, we are looking to grow our WIN team, which is dedicated to fully supporting, managing, developing and delivering our work winning activity. The role will mainly focus on bid coordination with a view to developing the role into bid writing over time.
The Highways and Intelligent Transport Systems (HTS) division is primarily based in the UK, delivering projects to clients such as Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), National Highways, Transport Scotland, DfT, Contractors and Local Authorities. We specialise in design and construction, progressing schemes from option identification and appraisal through preliminary detail design to supervision of works on site.
