A great opportunity has arisen to work for Axle Haulage as **Transport Planner in Dunstable**.

We are an Employee Ownership Trust company and have been operating since 1988.

As a Heavy Goods Vehicle Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the efficiency of our transport operations managing mixed flat platform Lorry Loader ( max 82t/m) fleet of Rigid and Artics, providing services to the Civil Engineering, Construction and Railway Industries.

**Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to)**:

- plan and coordinate movement within our fleet,
- optimize routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods,
- provide leadership of day-to-day transport operations, issues including dispatch debrief & work in progress,
- ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to our clients across the UK,
- maintain customer’s SLA,
- Day to day management of drivers, rota-inc holidays, sickness management,
- monitor vehicle performance, strong focus on H&S, compliance,
- work with subcontractors to supplement own fleet and meet customers’ requirements,
- provide excellent customer service and communication at all levels,
- use of Excel, cloud-based documents.

**Essential experience**:

- Previous experience as Transport planner for Heavy Goods,
- Working knowledge of WTD, Road Transport regulations, FORS,
- Geographical knowledge of the UK road network,
- Health and Safety regulations,
- CPC qualification preferable.
- Ability to work under own initiative and well under pressure,
- Proactive and problem-solving attitude,
- Strong communication skills,

Proficiency in transport management system and Microsoft Office,
- Full UK driving Licence.

Role is predominantly Monday to Friday, within office hours.

Due to nature of the business, applicant will be expected to be contactable out of hours, which would include bank holiday, weekends.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £36,000.00 per year
