Job Summary

· Manage daily supply chain planning activities to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of fresh bananas from suppliers to customers.

· Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and customer orders.

· Monitor and control inventory levels to avoid stock shortages or overstocking.

· Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any supply issues.

· Plan and adjust production schedules in line with changing customer requirements.

· Liaise with logistics providers to arrange efficient transport and distribution of goods.

· Analyse supply chain performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.

· Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company procedures

Duties

  • Demand Planning and Forecasting:
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and customer orders.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotional plans and market intelligence into demand forecasts.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimise stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Supplier Management:
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to optimise procurement processes.
  • Production Planning:
  • Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demands while optimising resource utilisation.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust plans as needed to accommodate changes in demand or supply.
  • Logistics and Distribution:
  • Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure efficient transportation and distribution of products.
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Performance Analysis:
  • Analyse supply chain performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with various departments, including procurement, sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with overall business goals.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Requirements

· Proven experience as a Supply Chain Planner or in a similar supply chain role.

· Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not essential.

· Knowledge of demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics processes.

· Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Flexible to work a shift pattern that may includes Sundays.

· Experience working with perishable goods (preferred).

· Knowledge of sustainability practices and industry regulations (preferred).
