Luton, Luton, United Kingdom AROSTRANSPORT LIMITED Full time £28,000 - £32,000 per year

About Us

AROSTRANSPORT LIMITED is a fast-growing logistics and haulage company operating a modern fleet of trucks and trailers across the UK. We specialise in time-critical deliveries, chilled and ambient goods, and nationwide coverage for leading logistics networks and blue-chip customers.

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and experienced Transport Planner to join our team. This is a key role ensuring the smooth daily running of our operations, optimizing routes, and supporting both our drivers and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and allocate routes for a fleet of HGVs and trailers, ensuring compliance with the Working Time Directive and Drivers' Hours Regulations.
  • Monitor and manage vehicle movements in real-time to ensure on-time collections and deliveries.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors – acting as the main point of contact for all daily operational matters.
  • Ensure all jobs are planned cost-effectively, maximizing vehicle and driver utilization while minimizing empty mileage.
  • Maintain accurate records on systems, including job details, route amendments, PODs, and customer updates.
  • Proactively resolve any delivery/collection issues, accidents, or delays with professionalism and speed.
  • Liaise with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles are roadworthy, PMIs and MOTs are booked, and defects are resolved without operational disruption.
  • Support compliance by monitoring drivers' tacho infringements, ensuring adherence to company H&S procedures.
  • Produce daily/weekly operational reports for management.

Requirements

  • Fluent Romanian is essential – the role involves daily communication with Romanian-speaking drivers, so this skill is a must.
  • Previous experience as a Transport Planner in road haulage/logistics (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of UK road networks, WTD, and drivers' hours regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills – clear, professional, and confident when dealing with drivers and customers.
  • Strong IT skills (TMS, Microsoft Excel/Word, email systems).
  • Punctual 05:00 AM start is mandatory (Monday–Friday). Flexibility with working hours is also required, including occasional weekend/evening support if needed.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with strong organisational skills.

Please only apply if you are genuinely interested in this role, can commit to the stated working hours (05:00–15:00), and meet the key requirements.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience).
  • Opportunity to join a growing, professional logistics company with long-term stability.
  • Supportive working environment with opportunities to progress.
  • Modern office and up-to-date systems.

This isn't just another Transport Planner vacancy — it's the chance to be the person who keeps an entire operation moving. At AROSTRANSPORT LIMITED, every decision you make matters and every route you plan shapes success. Excellence in logistics begins with exceptional planning, and we are committed to working with professionals who share our standards of precision, reliability, and ambition. If you are serious about your career and want to contribute to a company that values expertise and rewards commitment, we invite you to apply and grow with us.
