An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Medical Education Administrator to join the Medical Education Team.

The post holder will be required to support the Director of Medical Education, Director of Undergraduate Education, Medical Education Manager, and Site Specialist Leads, supporting the development, management and delivery of a range of high quality and cost effective educational services within the Trust to specifications required by (HEE) Health Education England, (KMMS) Kent and Medway Medical School and (CCCU) Canterbury Christ Church University.

Assist and support the Director of Medical Education (DME), Medical Education Manager (MEM), Locality Tutors, Medical Education Leads, and Deputy Medical Education Manager to run the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust Rotational Training Scheme regarding training and educational supervision for all junior doctors and medical students in Psychiatry.

The posts primary importance is in the delivery of the educational undergraduate contracts. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the educational contracts for Medical Education between the Trust and Health Education England KSS and Medical Schools are fulfilled and that educational targets within the contract are met.

The post holder will liaise with Medical Schools to manage the delivery of the educational programme for medical students. This involves management of the UG budget and communication with consultants to deliver the relevant training and assessments and will support the Medical Education Manager in the quality management of medical education processes.

**JOB PURPOSE**:
To support the Director of Medical Education, Undergraduate Lead and Medical Education Manager in developing, managing and delivering a range of high quality and cost-effective educational services within the Trust to specifications required by Health Education England, associated Medical Schools and the Trust’s strategic and operational framework. The post holder will have responsibility for the business support and management of the Undergraduate Educational Programme for medical students within the Trust.

**Dimensions**: The post is of primary importance in the delivery of the educational contract for Undergraduate education. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the educational contract for Medical Education between the Trust and Health Education England KSS (HE KSS) are fulfilled and that educational targets within the contract are met. This requires the post holder to work together and communicate with staff in Acute Trusts, Mental Health Trusts and Medical Schools within the London and KSS Region. The post holder will be regularly responsible for providing training placements for medical students in the specialty of Psychiatry in Kent.

**Budgetary**: Service Increment for Teaching (SIFT) budget. The post holder will be expected to monitor SIFT expenditure where applicable and report this to the Medical Education Manager.

Manpower 1 WTE.
Responsibility for the education and training of medical students on placement in Dartford, Medway, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and East Kent who will be undertaking block rotations in Psychiatry. The medical students will be received from Kent and Medway Medical School.

**RESPONSIBILITY**:
Works with the Director of Medical Education, Medical Education Manager, and Undergraduate Tutors to evaluate and develop medical education. Ensuring this is done within the framework of the Educational Contract.

Responsible for the comprehensive, day to day administrative support of Undergraduate education services to year 5 Kent and Medway Medical School Students completing their psychiatry block.
