Flood Coastal Risk Management Programme Officer

We have an exciting opportunity in Solent and South Downs Area to help deliver flood risk management schemes. We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the Flood Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Programme Officer role. As part of the FCRM Programme team you will work with external partners to ensure capital projects and programmes are progressing and monitored effectively. Working across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Sussex, you'll engage Local Authority officers to help them track and monitor their projects and provide guidance for compiling business cases. This will involve training and providing technical assistance on a range of projects, including one of the largest coastal schemes in the country. You’ll extract and analyse project, programme and performance data, and work with this information to prepare reports that will support decision making across the business. You’ll handle and respond to information requests, liaising with the relevant business areas including the Regional Flood and Coastal Committee (RFCC). This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that is making a real difference for our customers and our environment.
The team
- This role will form a core part of the Area Programming Team, working with colleagues from across the business in order to develop, manage and deliver Flood Costal Risk Management (FCRM) programmes of work. The role will also form part of a national community working with colleagues in the Directorate and across Areas, contributing to ways of working in a 'one business approach'.
Experience/skills required
- We are looking for an individual with a strong track record and proven experience of working with and building effective working relationships with others.
- You'll have strong organisational and inter-personal skills and a proven ability to use MS Office (strong Excel skills will be required).
- You understand and enjoy working with data and can demonstrate a sound knowledge of Project and Programme Management.
- You can present convincing verbal and written advice and have a practical approach to problem solving.
- A proven record of working with customers and delivering on time are essential.
